Most legitimate companies will not call your number if it’s on the list; scammers are more likely to ignore the list. It is important to note, however, that the FTC only prohibits sales calls to numbers on the list; you will still receive political, collections, survey participation and charitable contribution calls. If you are still receiving unwanted calls 31 days after registering, you may visit the same web site to report unwanted callers.
